Composite doors are constructed from multiple materials working together: a solid or engineered timber core, a dense polyurethane foam insulation layer and a glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) outer skin. The result is a door that won’t warp, rot, crack or fade – even through years of British weather.
Unlike timber doors, there’s no sanding, sealing or repainting required. A simple wipe-down is all it takes to keep your composite door looking as good as the day it was fitted – freeing up your weekends and protecting your investment long-term.

A well-made, professionally installed composite door typically lasts between 25 and 35 years. Correct fitting and weatherproofing at installation are key factors in achieving that lifespan.
Generally, yes. The solid core construction, impact-resistant GRP skin and multi-point locking system make composite doors significantly harder to force open than standard uPVC alternatives.
Very little. Wipe them down occasionally with warm soapy water and apply a small amount of oil to the hinges periodically. No painting, sanding or sealing is ever required.

Just had 7 Windows, 2 doors and our fascias done by Malbern, was a bit nervous but have to say was delighted from start to finish, the lady who came round initially was lovely and there was no pressure whatsoever, she told us to ring her when we had made our minds up, we managed to get a bit of a discount and went with it...Next The guy came round to do the survey, very meticulous and gave some great advice. Then, we were contacted about dates, and then the fascia guys came and did a superb job. The following week, Carl and Mark did the windows over 3 days, lovely friendly guys, did a superb job and kept the place clean and tidy, by the time the job was done you wouldn't know they had been there, apart from the fantastic windows and doors, 100% happy, new grey windows and all the neighbours are loving them as well, recommend Malbern from our experience.
