We are a nation of DIY experts and it certainly seems as though this passion shows no signs of slowing, with new research revealing that two out of three homeowners in the UK have plans to start a new project in the next 12 months.
Conducted by Sainsbury’s Bank Credit Cards, the study found that 79 per cent of people have done at least one project in the last year, with 66 per cent planning to follow suit this year.
Of all the places in the home to get started on, the back garden was found to be the most popular for homeowners looking to renovate, followed by the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room and the drive or front garden.
What you should bear in mind, however, is that some jobs are always best left to the professionals. You wouldn’t, for example, necessarily tackle a conversion project by yourself if you’ve never done one before. Similarly, it’s advisable to bring the Tameside conservatory installation specialists in if you want the job done to perfection without causing any damage to your house.
You might well think you know all there is to know about DIY and what you don’t know you can find out about on the internet and DIY YouTube videos but if you’re not careful you could end up having to make a hefty insurance claim when it all goes wrong.
It’s always best to call in professional and qualified tradesmen to help you with the bigger jobs. It could save you a lot of heartache in the end.
