What’s The Best Way To Heat Your Conservatory?

Although we’re heading into summer right now, you should still be thinking about how to save money on your energy bills over the winter months and if you’ve got conservatories in Manchester, you’ll know it can cost a fair bit to keep it snug when the cold weather hits if you’re not careful.
If you do plan on using your conservatory throughout the entire year and not just in the summer, you’ll need to come up with some sort of heating strategy so you don’t end up paying through the nose to enjoy this part of the house. Of course, if you only want it to serve as a summer house then this won’t be a concern for you. Simply invest in some thick lined curtains to help keep the heat in.
But what options do you have if you do want to use your orangery or conservatory in the winter? Electric heating means you won’t need to have any ventilation added and you can adjust the temperature quickly, but bear in mind that running costs can be quite high. You could connect a radiator to your existing central heating system but check with your local building officers first to see if this is permitted.
Alternatively, you could invest in a night time storage heater. These days, you can buy well-designed products that aren’t clunky or unattractive and it’ll mean that you can take advantage of cheaper night time rates for electricity. Bear in mind, however, that the heaters aren’t especially cheap and they can be costly to install.
Under floor heating is another option and is in fact a very comfortable way of heating a space. The pros include the fact that your heating system is invisible, takes up no space and doesn’t cost too much to run.
