Temperatures Predicted To Fall To -15C

Keep your Tameside patio doors properly closed and insulated over the next few weeks – meteorologists are now expecting temperatures to drop to -15 degrees C, with plenty of snow and ice on the way as well.

Over the Christmas period, The Met Office is forecasting a four-day cold snap and then icy periods of frost and snow as we get closer to December 25^th, interspersed with wetter and milder days, according to the Daily Mirror.

A representative from the group said: “There will be sleet or snow at times in the north. Colder interludes and frosts are likely. Unsettled conditions mean temperatures will vary around normal overall.”

These predictions come after the UK experienced the first real spell of cold weather this weekend (November 21^st), with temperatures dropping to -1 and -2 degrees C, and frost seen in parts of the north early on Monday morning.

No doubt many people around the UK switched their heating on for the first time this weekend, but you need to make sure that your home isn’t wasting the energy that you use by letting it out through draughty windows and doors.
