Homeowners Prepare To Turn Heating On

Autumn has arrived thick and fast, and homeowners who are putting off switching their central heating on are likely to give up by the weekend.

That is because Sunday October 16th is when most Brits will resign themselves to turning on their boiler in a bid to warm up a little as temperatures outside drop dramatically, according to recent research from GoCompare.com.

Homeowners could be responding to the bad weather we are expected to see this week, with weather forecasters anticipating snow and sleet showers to hit the UK by the weekend.

Despite this, 29 per cent of households delay putting their heating on as a way to save money on their energy bills, and five per cent even admit having heated arguments over it.

He suggested looking around for better energy deals before winter arrives and people start relying on their central heating more and more, as this can potentially save “£100s off your energy bills”.
