If you’re still plodding along with your old boiler model it might be time for an upgrade. One of the quickest and easiest ways of saving energy and reducing heat loss from your central heating system is to insulate your hot water pipes. Invest in thick curtains

Even if you have triple or double glazing, you’re still going to lose a certain amount of heat through your windows. You could even consider hanging a curtain in front of all your doors to add even more protection against this.

Buy a chimney balloon

If you have a fireplace that you don’t use, buy yourself a chimney balloon which is placed inside the chimney hole (where you can’t see it) and then inflated to stop cold air coming in and any heat escaping.
