How Your Hard Garden Work Would Benefit From Bi-Fold Doors

If you are a gardener, then there is no doubt that you have enjoyed the hot summer weather in the UK. It might have been the perfect time to clean up the backyard, especially as many members of the family would be spending their time outside. No matter where you live – from Liverpool to Manchester – bi-fold doors could be a missing, valuable addition to your property.

Just think about it for a moment: if you spend plenty of time keeping on top of your backyard, you will not be able to see it unless you head directly outside. With bi-fold doors, however, it could – and would – be something that you could see as soon as you walk into the backroom in the mornings.

According to Horticulture Week, online gardening sales were up by 22 per cent in July.

Andy Mulcahy, the strategy and insight director at Interactive Media in Retail Group, commented: “Shoppers keen to capitalise on the sunshine focused their attention on gardening products – which was also to the detriment of the home sector, which reported a year-on-year decrease of 5.8 per cent.

“The positive weather, which started in May, has transformed the garden sector’s 2018 performance into an impressive 24.5 per cent year-to-date growth.”

There is no doubt that many people have been able to pull out the weeds, mow the lawn and keep on top of their backyard. In fact, it would have helped over the summer if the family decided to host a barbecue, especially as nobody wants other people to be judging the state of the garden.

It’s never too late to begin gardening either. You might find that it allows you to be creative with the space in your yard, whether it is the addition of a pond or growing vegetables. It is easy to improve other areas of a new house to make it eventually feel like your home, but you do not want to overlook an area that will be essential when the weather is warm.

Research from American Express found that more than 40 million UK adults will stay at home over the August bank holiday weekend. It identified that the average adult plans to spend £104, with the top five activities including £19 spent on shopping to £17 on home improvements.

Stephen Steinhardt, the director at American Express, commented: “It’s great to see that so many people will be making the most of the extra day off. Whether it’s a long weekend fixing up the house or enjoying a barbecue in the sun, it’s also wise to make the most of bank holiday spending.”

If you have the extra time off during the bank holiday weekend, it could be the starting point for planning out a garden project and putting into motion the early stages on areas that need to be improved the most. If you have held one barbecue this summer, then you will know that another one will not be that far away if the weather comes out in full force.
